Back on the machine again

I got the next quilt on the machine and stabilized. It's all embroidered fire trucks from fire department history.

I'm not sure how I'm going to quilt the center but this is going on the border. I drew it today using a couple of pictures the owner gave me.

I won't get much work done on this quilt today because I'm taking my SIL to the doctor and then we'll go to the hardware to get some lumber for my garden spots. We will also stop by the garden center to see what they have.... if they are open yet. In the evening I'll be watching Ladybug while the Mommie goes to class.

What a cool quilt! Are the trucks prints or applique?

All the fire trucks are machine embroidery. This guy's mother is a quilter. He bought her an embroidery machine for Xmas about 4 or 5 years ago. She never wanted to use it because her old machine was her favorite for piecing quilts. So he started using it himself and his mother taught him how to make quilts with all the designs he does.

Yay! I love men quilters. The work I've seen from men seems to have very different artistic expression and color choices and in most cases is pretty fearless.

It's one of the few quilts I've seen where I'm really jealous of the designer.
