Welcome to my blog

Please don't remind me that I'm poor; I'm having too much fun pretending I'm simply "living green" like everyone else these days.

Don't understand

There is something I've been trying to understand but can't seem to find any information about it except doomsday type comments.  I don't want to simply take someone's opinion on it.  I want real information about what it is and how it is to work so I can form an opinion of my own.

Executive Order 13575 Agenda 21 is what it's called and was signed by Obama in June.  I first heard of it on Fox News (I think) several days ago.  I just caught the tail end of it and wanted to find out more.

Does anyone reading my blog understand what that is?  Can you point me to some information that is neither pro nor con on the subject?  Or perhaps a place where I might find comments both for and against it?

Anita, I don't really know all that much but I googled the United Nations Agenda 21(their site has the full document). I read a bit, it's mostly economics. I suppose it could be seen as a program that could in the short term take US jobs etc, or it could be seen that in the long term it will provide a better standard of living through out the world. Along with that would come more stability worldwide. Then I googled the Presidential order- looks to be creating another group to "look in to" the needs of the rural US. I'm not sure how helpful that would be but knowledge is always helpful. Neither looks all that horrid to me. If you want I can send you the links, read it yourself and see what you think. I personally wouldn't trust much on the "News" they all have their agenda and they push it.

Executive Order 13575 really isn't much of anything. It forms a council to look at streamlining (cutting) what the Fed govt already pays and getting the most bang for their buck. But there is nothing in the order that says anything is actually going to get done - only that we are now funding a council to do some "fact finding". Keep in mind it's a re-election year and Obama very much needs the vote of rural America, and ask yourself if this council is formed so he'll look good, at least temporarily. However, although the newly formed Council may actually suggest services/funding etc that would help rural America - there's not a thing in the Order that says the programs/services they suggest will be funded. That will be up to Congress, and Congress isn't in much of a spending mood these days.

"This order is not intended to, and does not, create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, or entities, its officers, employees, or agents, or any other person."

If the Executive Order got your hopes up, it served it's purpose.

Here's a link to the order:

2nd post. Anita, the opinion I gave previously stands, but now I've been out to read what you may be calling the "nay sayers" -- the relationship between this order and nefarious goals of the U.N. Quite honestly, I think I may be closer to the correct reason for this order in my previous comment than these folks are in their "the sky is falling" knee-jerk response to everything. As anti-Obama as I am, I think this order is truly nothing more than looking for rural American votes (notoriously conservative voters) by looking as if he's going to help (on paper) but not actually doing a thing. Of course, you or others may have a different opinion, and I respect that! But that's my take on it.

It's pretty difficult to find an unbiased bit of information about the Executive Order but this link at least provides background information about the UN Agenda 21 and how the US Executive Order fits into it. I hope you find it useful.http://www.parcbench.com/2011/07/02/agenda-21-conspiracy-theory-or-real-threat/

It is scary, scary stuff. It's been around for many years and is slowly being implemented. Most Americans think it sounds fine, it won't affect them, sustainable development can't help but be a good thing, right? Wrong. Here are three links for you to check out. If folks want to call me a right-wing bigot, that's fine with me. I call myself a patriot. Our founding fathers were called traitors.
